The reason it is sticking around is because younger and younger people (mostly dudes) are being exposed to porn and porn stars shave because bodily fluids all mashed into hair doesn't look that attractive on camera. Bottom line. Too many people and brokers make FX look like the answer to everyone's financial needs. This is so wrong I can't begin to explain in this short forum.

Software, black boxes and even "alert" services will kill you financially. There's only one way to make money in FX;

1. Develop your own strategy.
2. Remember "Money Management" is more important than having the right "picks".
3. Take at least a year to really learn this stuff before putting down one cent. Read as many books as possible, mostly on Technical Analysis and Psychology of trading.

This is not the land of "big hits" (no trading is). Position Sizing and Money Management are the most important skills you can learn.

As for the system sellers…you are right. What system sellers do is backtest systems, and over the backtest period, they perform wonderfully. However, you can get a system to perform well over past timeframes by fitting it to the data (tweaking the parameters so that they perform well against known data). Those systems don't work so well when faced with a period they weren't fitted for. I believe there are some legit system sellers and builders out there, and that mechanical systems can work. However, I haven't looked into it much myself, and I have never seen anyone advertising on the web who looked legit.

I am not an options trader, but have studied and practised astrology for years, so you could see this as a biased answer – I am just giving you information which you should use with your own powers of discrimation.

Have not heard of Hubb or Optionetics or enrolled in your 'Safety in the Market'. I am always wary of slick, sales orientated stuff though.

I believe some research has been done, which you could read about in the book I mentioned, based on the planets, especially Venus and Mercury, possibly Jupiter, 'turning'. I.e. because of the orbits relative to earth, these planets turn backwards and forwards again (retrograde and direct). These apparently have been shown to ADD something to financial analysis in helping to give the edge on when a small turn in the market may take place. It may give you a small percentage 'edge' on not using astrology, but obviously cannot be used in isolation. I believe the correlations are statistically significant, but would certainly never be taken as scientific proof, possibly because bigger sample sizes may be necessary to give the 95% + confidence levels required in statistics.

I've also heard that a lot of pensions fund managers employee some astrological theory in their analysis. But then, it was my astro-buddies that would have told me that, so can't state it as a fact, although they would state that very emphatically as such.

I saw a video on the internet by an Australian professor who was selling his program for picking stocks. He sounded really convincing. Then he showed the stock his program had chosen. It was an American retailer called Bed Bath and Beyond. Apparently the news that it was going out of business hadn't reached Australia.

I'd like to share my views with you. There are certain things you should follow while buying a currency system

1. Understanding the basis of the logic of the system.

2. The system should aim to catch the long-term trends; day trading currencies has less probability of success than long term trading.

3. Simple systems tend to work best, as they are stronger in the face of changing market conditions. There is no link in currency trading systems between complexity of systems and their success.

4. Look at the maximum drawdown from peak equity. This is important in terms of money management, as you need to expect your biggest drawdown is ahead and commit sufficient funds to cover these downturns.

5. Not all systems come with real trading records; they can come with simulations over historical data. If the basis is soundly based logic then they can still work well.

6. At last, judge a system over years not months. All systems can have periods of losses.

To your question, too many PR programs require NO business courses. At Kent State, we require seven: Microeconomics, Marcoeconomics, Principles of Management, Principles of Marketing, Financial Accounting, and two additional marketing courses.

If students take 2-3 more biz classes, they may earn minors in business administration or marketing. But that doesn't make them business majors — not by a long shot. But they do understand the fundamentals. On the other hand, my students can write rings around most any student in the College of Business. They understand media and the social web at a level far beyond the business majors. And I'll match our kids up in terms of critical problem solving against any business student in the university.

But I have to admit, they still struggle with that balance sheet — even after the accounting class.

So it comes back to the great debate: Does PR belong in business schools? Maybe it does. But then we risk losing the menu of skills-oriented courses that turn the students into writers, and PR professionals. You also give up a good many liberal arts courses designed to make the PR graduate more well rounded.

It's been argued by many that PR should be taught ONLY at the graduate level. Maybe that's the solution, but it's a post for another day.

Lot of review claiming that it works…How many of those reviewers have actually tried it? These people are
just trying to make a commission off your purchase. The reviews are fake…

What happened was that the “Agency Model” got to the Kindle store. Blame Apple for initiating Agency pricing in the first place (since they wanted iBooks to be competitive). Basically, what happened is that the Top 5 publishers (except RandomHouse I think) forced bookstores (like Amazon, etc) to agree that all eBook pricing will be decided by the publishers instead of each single bookstore deciding on its own (takes away the competition). That's when prices became unreasonable. Amazon just acts like an affiliate for the eBooks that fall under the Agency deal.
